Luger Research e.U. announced that a new, international LED symposium and exhibition focusing on LED lighting science and technology will be held annually in Austria.
“Since LED technology is developing so quickly it is essential for companies today to identify the key trends, recognize winning technologies and establish their own technology networks”, said Siegfried Luger, founder and CEO of Luger Research e.U.
The innovative symposium and exhibition will incorporate key aspects of lighting such as efficiency, reliability, quality of light, cost of ownership, standardization, and IP on a component and module level for LEDs/OLEDs, optics, drivers, thermal management, and testing. It will provide design approaches for forming LED lighting systems such as
LED light engines, LED lamps or LED luminaries.
From September 27th to 29th, 2011, global key players from the fields of industry and research will be meeting in Bregenz, Austria. The application-oriented symposium and exhibition will cover LED lighting technologies and their system solutions. These technologies have a big influence on the development of new lighting products and they are applied in all stages of lighting, from light generation to optical, electrical and thermal systems and lighting measurements. LpS (LED professional Symposium) will stage a comprehensive program dealing with leading edge technologies.
Experts from all over the world will present their latest, as yet, unpublished, technology lectures. Companies can exhibit their technologies and products in the spacious showroom in the festival house. All speakers and exhibitors will be available for detailed technical discussions during the whole event. The symposium offers an ideal platform for dialogue among research, industry, product development and application.
An advisory board will select the papers submitted and then agree on the speakers that will deliver a first class symposium. Besides Siegfried Luger and Arno Grabher-Meyer who publish the LED professional Review 6 times a year with its in-depth, technical articles, there are Dr. Paul Hartmann, Director of the Institute “Materials” at Joanneum Research, Dr. Günter Sejkora, Managing Director of the Competence Centre Light and Dr. Nisa Khan, President of LED Lighting Technologies.
The LED-professional team is especially proud of the fact that Dr. Sergei Ikovenko, MIT professor and Chief Specialist for Innovation Leadership Programs, has agreed to talk about the “Technology Evolution of LED Lighting” for one of the key-note speeches. He will also be leading a workshop in “Disruptive Innovation Technology – Winning Approaches in LED Lighting” on the first day of the symposium. “We think it is the right time to establish a technology-oriented LED event, sorting out the winning approaches and products and building a platform for and with technology experts - finding the right paths for the future”, concluded Mr. Luger.
The symposium and exhibition will take place in the Festspielhaus (Festival House) in Bregenz that is famous for its opera performances on the floating stage. It was also a shooting location for the James Bond movie, “Quantum of Solace” with Daniel Craig. In addition to its artistic attributes, the Festspielhaus has become a favourite location for conferences and symposiums thanks to its versatile room characteristics and state-of-the-art technical facilities.
